THE PROJECT

Orion is a production-ready full-stack e-commerce management dashboard for tracking products, orders, customers, and revenue analytics. It combines a modern Next.js frontend with a C# ASP.NET Core REST API backed by PostgreSQL — demonstrating end-to-end full-stack capability across two different technology ecosystems. The application spans five fully routed pages: Dashboard, Products, Orders, Customers, and Settings — each powered by live data from a JWT-authenticated REST API.

THE CHALLENGE

The project required building a cohesive, professional-grade admin interface that felt like a real SaaS product — not a tutorial clone. The key challenge was architecting a clean separation between frontend and backend, implementing JWT authentication across both layers, and delivering a polished UI with real data flowing from a relational database. Deliberately avoiding Tailwind in favor of SCSS Modules allowed full control over the design system and demonstrated raw CSS architecture skills.

THE SOLUTION

I built the frontend with Next.js 16 + TypeScript using SCSS Modules for component-level styling. The backend is a C# ASP.NET Core 10 Web API using Entity Framework Core for database migrations and Npgsql for PostgreSQL connectivity. Authentication uses JWT Bearer tokens with BCrypt password hashing. The API ships with 20+ endpoints across Auth, Products, Orders, Customers, and Dashboard resources. The backend is covered by 24 xUnit integration tests — all passing. The full system is containerized with Docker and includes a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline.
