THE PROJECT

BrewStar is a modern iOS coffee ordering application inspired by the Starbucks experience, designed to deliver a premium, seamless beverage ordering flow through an elegant and intuitive interface. Built with SwiftUI and powered by Firebase, the app allows users to browse a curated menu of hot and cold beverages, customize their orders, and track their favorites — all within a visually rich, brand-consistent environment. Crafted for coffee enthusiasts who value both aesthetics and convenience, BrewStar brings the café experience directly to the user's fingertips.

THE CHALLENGE

The challenge was to design and develop a full-featured coffee ordering experience that feels premium while remaining fast and responsive. Key technical hurdles included building a dynamic, real-time menu system with Firebase Firestore, implementing smooth category filtering and drink customization flows, creating visually engaging animations that reflect the brand's warmth and energy, and maintaining a clean MVVM architecture as the feature set grew. The app also needed to deliver a polished App Store-ready UI that could stand alongside leading consumer applications.

THE SOLUTION

I built BrewStar using SwiftUI with a strict MVVM architecture to ensure a clean separation of concerns and a scalable codebase. Firebase Firestore powers the real-time menu and order data, enabling dynamic content updates without requiring app releases. The UI features custom animations, smooth tab transitions, and an interactive drink customization flow that guides users naturally through their order. SF Symbols and carefully crafted iconography reinforce the brand identity throughout the experience. The app includes full menu browsing by category, drink detail views, order customization, a favorites system, and an intuitive home dashboard — all designed to iOS Human Interface Guidelines while carrying a distinctive visual identity.
